Zenius Solutions has been awarded the the top innovation prize in the
Disruptathon Mobile Enterprise competition for its NFC-based mobile wallet solution.
Hosted by CTIA Enterprise and Applications in San Diego, the Disruptathon was judged by an audience of approximately 200 industry professionals, investors and app developers. Each finalist firm was granted five minutes to explain its technology’s concept, business model, disruptive potential and user experience.
Zenius’ solution, which enables users to make payments, gain loyalty points and redeem coupons all from an NFC-enabled handset, took home the $20,000 Grand Prize, as well as Most Disruptive, Most Unique and Best Business Model honors.
The solution comprises the customizable Zenius Mobile Wallet, a re-brandable application that enables users to select and manage card applications; Zenius NFC Framework, an NFC hardware abstraction layer for application development; Zenius Open-loop MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover applets; and Zenius White-label card applications, a group of closed-loop applications including NFC loyalty and coupons.
Zenius’ solution also provides service on the merchant end with M-Transact, a program that turns NFC-enabled smart phones into contactless points of sale. Zenius’ Transaction Server takes care of back-end support for the White-label applications.
According to Zenius, the solution provides a common platform for all mobile payment stakeholders—carriers, banks, issuers, merchants, marketers, developers, and manufacturers.
