Israeli company develops new “foolproof” biometric identification
An Israeli biometrics developer, ID-U Biometrics, has developed a new system for biometric identification, according to an Israeli 21C article. The system works like an iris scanner, but rather than identifying by the eye itself it identifies through the movement of the eye while tracking a moving object. Through its own algorithms in conjunction with a users webcam and computer monitor, the technology tracks complex eye movements in parameters including anatomy, physiology, eye structure and chemistry.
ID-U is touting this new technology as more secure than any other existing biometric technology as it is near-impossible mimic and identifies via characteristics unique to each person. Right now the aim is to have the product ready in about a year and available for use with internet transactions through systems such as PayPal.
