Among the aims of the RFIDSA are offering education and resources to both those involved in the RFID industry and outsiders with an interest in the technology, including educators and the media. The group also plans to provide legislative and public relations support to members, create a series of metrics to establish a common terminology for security in the industry and help to speed the creation and adoption of of secure RFID technologies and solutions.
Founding members of the RFIDSA include AWID, GraniteKey, MIKOH Corporation, NeoCatena Networks, Inc., QLM Consulting, SecureRF Corporation, Sensitel, Sybase and Verayo. The group hopes to recruit other RFID-centered companies, as well as law firms, consulting firms, educational institutions and others interested in the development of RFID technology and associated issues.
