Zeitgroup, a Miami-based start-up, has announced the launch of RFIDat, an RFID-enabled productivity solution. The system offers employers the ability to compile and analyze employees’ attendance, work flow, and other productivity issues through an RFID network and accompanying software.
Zeitgroup’s system revolves around credit card-sized RFID-enabled devices called RFIDat Readers which are issued to employees. At the command of the cardholder, the reader scans information from a series of coin-sized detection points placed around a workspace. The information collected by the reader is later entered into the system at RFIDocks, docking stations which also recharge the readers.
The gathered information is processed by the system’s ZeitCOM software, which can create a summary of each cardholder’s activities. From the data, employers can measure work time, calculate costs in time and attendance, and other productivity numbers.
Zeitgroup is focusing initial marketing efforts for RFIDat on industries where employee mobility is common, including cleaning services, security, health care, maintenance and production factories, but the company believes the system will prove useful for a wider range of businesses as well. The system was originally developed by an Italian firm and has been marketed in Italy.
