MaxID, a developer of biometric solutions, has announced that their iDLMax handheld biometric device has completed and passed the Initial Capability Evaluation assessment for the Transportation Worker Identification Credential program. The TWIC program is setup to provide workers at ports of entry and airports with biometrically secured ID cards to secure authorized personnel areas.
The iDLMax would be able to serve a number of needs of the TWIC program due to its capabilities such as its QWERTY keyboard, digital camera and wireless capabilities, as well as its ability to operate as a multi-modal system utilizing contact cards, contactless cards, bar codes, optical fingerprints, optional magnetic swipes and MRZ readers.
