Impinj takes RFID Speedway products to Japanese market

Seattle-based UHF Gen 2 RFID provider Impinj and Japanese global trading company Sumikin Bussan announced that Sumikin Bussan will sell the Impinj Speedway family of RFID reader and antenna products throughout Japan.
Dick Yamauchi, general manager of the Supply Chain Management & Project Development Department for Sumikin Bussan, expects that the partnership will help accelerate the expansion of RFID adoption in Japan.
Sumikin Bussan is made up of a domestic and overseas network of 66 subsidiaries and 25 associated companies in 10 countries worldwide. The company deals in providing products and services in fields such as steel, machinery and metals, textiles and foodstuffs.
Impinj and Sumikin Bussan will promote the Impinj Speedway product line at the AUTO-ID Expo in Tokyo on Sept. 16-18, 2009.
