L-1 Identity Solutions, a developer of biometric technology, has been awarded a contract valued at $18 million and spanning seven years from the State of New Jersey.
The contract stipulates the development of a system for biometrically secure driver’s licenses as well as six years of producing the ID cards. As L-1 had landed a near $195 million contract with the U.S. Department of State late in 2009 for production systems of biometric passports, this new contract furthers L-1’s experience in rolling out ID programs.
