NORTH CANTON, Ohio – More than 200 delegates participated in the DieboldCard Systems User’s Group (DCSUG) conference in Cleveland. Hosted by Kent State University, the event showcased the latest technology for college
campus administrators, including the introduction of Diebold’s new CS Gold
4.0.
During the conference, Visionary Awards were presented to the University of
North Carolina – Chapel Hill and The University at Albany. The board of the
DCSUG reviews recent advancements in the industry and identifies
institutions that demonstrate exemplary creativity, commitment, cooperation
and dedication to the advancement of card systems. In 2002, for the first
time in its 12-year history, Diebold’s Visionary Award was presented to two
schools.
University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill was significantly involved in the
engineering and release of the original CS Gold version 1.0. The innovative
Tar Heels were the first to test and install CS Meal Plans in 1997, and
several additional CS feature applications along the way.
The University at Albany has been a pacesetter in helping bring quality
products to the campus card market. They were actively involved in testing
several versions of CS Gold, including the new CS Gold 4.0, as well as
Diebold’s building controller 7.x software.
“We are pleased to present this award to two schools that are always pushing
the envelope in terms of the functionality and convenience they want to
provide to their students, faculty and staff,” said Bradley J. Stephenson,
general manager of Diebold Card Systems. “As visionaries in the card
industry they help guide our efforts and provide priceless feedback that
helps us to continue enhancing CS Gold.”
