To automatically track and manage over 6,000 hospital assets throughout their 756 beds and 1.9 million square foot facility, the University of Mississippi Medical Center has selected the real-time location solution from Skytron.
Skytron asset tags, powered by Awarepoint, broadcast low power radio messages that enable the medical center to quickly locate specific assets and provide real-time information about their movement and status.
With easy access to the real-time locating system via a desktop icon, all authorized employees can easily locate needed equipment as well as the nearest available equipment in real-time situations.
This provides an enhanced means to locate equipment such as infusion pumps, telemetry, wheelchairs and other mobile assets that are critical in delivering quality patient care. Equipment can now be utilized more efficiently, improving work flows and positively impacting patient care and operation efficiency.
