L-1 Identity Solutions has announced it has been awarded a contract for research and development by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate, Human Factors Division. The contract stipulates for L-1 to develop a next generation technology for use in a four-finger slap image capture mobile biometric device.
Other expectations from the contract is that L-1 is able to create a device that is both lighter and smaller than comparable devices while having a user interface that is simple enough that users with little experience as well as technical or physical know-how with regard to operating biometric devices would be able to easily utilize the device.
