RF IDeas has announced the launch of its new pcProx Plus contactless reader, enabling customers in both 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz environments to use a single reader regardless of the chip’s frequency.
RF IDeas says the company designed the reader to address the issue of using proximity and contactless smart cards for multiple applications.
According to the company, many businesses are using the same card their employees carry for door or parking lot access for other applications, including identification for secure printing, single sign-on, kiosks, point-of-sale purchases and more.
The new pcProx Plus reader is the first product in a new family of readers from RF IDeas that combine 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz technologies, according to the company.
