id3 Semiconductors, a biometrics and other technology developer, has announced its fingerprint recognition technology has been labeled with outstanding performance by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) following an evaluation by the agency.
The tests, which are called the NIST MINEX tests, are cosponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security US-VISIT program. id3’s results from the tests showed that their technology had the lowest error rate of any fingerprint systems that had been tested under the MINEX tests and solidifies the company’s belief in their compliance with the U.S. government’s personal identity verification programs.
