SAGEM MORPHOACCESS 220 — A biometric terminal with a contactless smartcard reader (C)1994-2002 M2
23 December, 2002
category: Biometrics, Contactless
At the occasion of the Cartes & IT Security Show 2002, SAGEM introduces the MORPHOACCESS 220, a biometric terminal providing the possibility to identify fingerprints and contactless smartcards at the same time: when the card holder puts his/her finger on the optical sensor, the system’s algorithms match the captured fingerprint against the templates stored on the card. The person is immediately and very easily authenticated and entry to areas with restricted access is perfectly secure.
This innovative terminal provides an efficient solution to meet both needs of companies in terms of security and expectations of the physical access control market.
World leader in fingerprint-based biometrics, SAGEM has conceived and installed systems in numerous countries and in various application areas that include social benefit distribution management, civil status registry management as well as issuance of identity cards incorporating fingerprints. These systems have already processed more than one billion fingerprints and continue to provide service every day through thousands of registration units.
SAGEM will be present at the Cartes & IT Security Show 2002: stand 4K 015, hall 4.
