Cloud increases need for managed authentication in Asia Pacific

As more and more companies migrate to the cloud, they are becoming more aware of the need for managed authentication services, reports ZD Net. However, companies are still wary of authentication providers in terms of reliability and ceding control.
Although companies want to migrate to the cloud, they’re not as willing to invest the money needed to truly protect themselves from hackers. Many find it’s too expensive to build their own systems in-house, and in terms of outsourcing, they worry about authentication providers going out of business, leaving them high and dry.
That’s not to say that businesses in Asia-Pacific are eschewing authentication providers altogether. Governments and banks have been keen on adopting these services, and have had many successes with them so far. Companies in other industries, however, are being a little more timid with outsourcing authentication.
Still, as the industry matures and authentication service providers acquire good track records, the pressing need to outsource this task for newer technologies may spur the industry.
