In a declassified U.S. Department of Energy report, New Hampshire-based Visible Assets, a secure logistics company, received superior security and safety ratings from Pantex for its RuBee magnetic-based wireless technology. Pantex manages the Sandia Weapons Experimental Test Laboratory in Amarillo, Texas, and spent five years studying RuBee before releasing its comments.
Seacoast Online reports that Visible Assets, a seven-year-old company, spent three years developing RuBee, an alternative to RFID created for environments that necessitate higher levels of security. During the development, Visible Assets protected the Oracle software-based product with 28 patents and 85 pending patent applications.
Visible Assets originally intended RuBee for the heath care industry, but when purchasers were reluctant to invest, it found a home in the energy and defense government sectors. At Pantex, RuBee helps manage critical inventory and production items.
Pantex’s stamp of approval has given a boost to Visible Assets, which is now in discussion with potential clients in the Middle East that want to keep track of their small arms arsenal.
