Offering includes joint university ID card service
MINNEAPOLIS, Aug 28, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) – As students start a new year at college, they have many things on their minds. Finances might not be at the top of their list, but U.S. Bank is here to assist them. U.S. Bank is helping thousands of college students across the country become financially responsible adults through its student banking products and services.
“It’s our job as a community partner to assist college students with their financial affairs so when they graduate, they’re financially responsible people,” said Jim Marshall, senior vice president at U.S. Bank. “We want them in control of their finances, to be aware of their budget limitations, and to use U.S. Bank as a financial tool. We’re here to help them with all facets of their finances, from financing their college education to providing checking and savings accounts, Internet Banking and more. We have also established working relationships with various colleges and universities.”
One way U.S. Bank has established relationships with colleges and universities is by having a branch presence at Xavier University, Saint Louis University, Marquette University and the University of Minnesota through its campus banking program. “Campusbanking provides a wide variety of banking products that fit students lifestyles and makes it easy for them to manage their money,” said Marshall. In addition, nearly 500 campuses are within five miles of a U.S. Bank branch.
U.S. Bank’s Campusbank Card program is popular at ten colleges and universities (Xavier University and College of Mt. St. Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio; Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa; Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri; University of Louisville and Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky; Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky; Springfield, Missouri’s Drury University; the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio and Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas).
The U.S. Bank Campusbank Card allows students as well as faculty and staff to use photocopy machines, laundry facilities and the library, have door and dorm access and purchase meals without cash. It can also be used as an identification card and as a U.S. Bank ATM card on and off campus. U.S. Bank is currently working with ten additional campuses to establish U.S. Bank campus programs.
