With an array of NFC-enabled handsets now on the market, including two with PayPass certification, RIM may be in a good position to integrate NFC payments into its BlackBerry Wallet service, reports BerryReview.
According to RIM, BlackBerry Wallet in its current form can store a customer’s credit card numbers, billing addresses, shipping information and loyalty accounts to expedite the online payment process and simplify earning rewards. According to BerryReview, if RIM goes goes ahead with the move, NFC could make BlackBerry Wallet relevant again, and consumers could be protected from carriers squeezing extra money out of the service.
