Oberthur Technologies has announced that its EMV sector has experienced large growth leading up to the transition to EMV in the U.S, shipping more than 2.5 million EMV cards to U.S. banks and credit unions in 2011.
In the last six months, Oberthur has doubled its active American EMV programs, bringing the total to 15 institutions.
Oberthur has signed up more customers, such as SECU and US Bank, to help them issue EMV cards. Its EMV cards are manufactured at a ISO 9001 certified facility in southeastern Pennsylvania, and it manages EMV card personalization through its service centers in Los Angeles and Chantilly, Va.
Oberthur’s line of EMV solutions includes simple products like EMV-in-a-Box to ease the technological burden of EMV migration. This product is designed to help clients implement a 12-week EMV issuance program. Oberthur also provides a Common Personalization System, an engine that allows for quick card profile creation and management.
