Australia-based retail chain Cotton On has launched “Try On Your Sound,” a fitting room experience that uses RFID technology and music to enhance the customer experience, according to retailbiz.com.au.
Selected garments are outfitted with RFID tags, which initiates an individually selected playlist designed to reflect the style of the garment being tried on – music from the Australian and International music scene.
For the initial roll out, in women clothing it’s a choice between skinny, high-waisted and straight denim styles, whereas for men the options are skinny, straight or relaxed fits. What follows is rock, indie or pop sounds tailored to the specific denim cut and color.
“Try on Your Sound” will debut at the new Cotton On Carindale, Queensland store with several additional locations to be revealed over the coming months.
