4G Identity Solutions wins Indian contract

Hyderabad, India-based 4G Identity Solutions (4Gid) has won a biometrics contract with the government of India’s National Informatics Centre (NIC), Department of Information Technology. 4Gid will install and integrate biometric technology for the country’s Immigration, Visa and Foreigners Registration & Tracking (IVFRT) system.
The contract is the result of the NIC’s call for bids that occurred this past March. 4Gid’s contract will include supplying 4-4-2 fingerprint biometric capture devices, single fingerprint devices, SDKs for enrollment, segmentation, quality check and Minex Complaint Algorithm for minutia-based matching.
India’s IVFRT Project is part of the Ministry of Home Affairs and is one of the country’s National e-Governance Project’s Mission Mode Projects. The goal of the project is to safely and securely facilitate legitimate travelers while providing high levels of security. The system incorporates biometric capabilities in order to provide effective identification of travelers moving through the system.
