SecureKey shows off mobile cloud-based authentication solutions
At this week’s Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona, SecureKey Technologies Inc. will be showcasing its new cloud-based authentication products for mobile devices.
Some of the apps SecureKey will be demonstrating include Mobile POS, which enables secure EMV card reading on smart phones and tablets; mobile multifactor authentication through NFC and embedded secure elements and mobile identity validation through secure terminals.
SecureKey will be showing these products with Broadcom, one of its technology partners. Broadcom and SecureKey collaborated on authentication and mobile payment acceptance for NFC-enabled devices.
SecureKey’s cloud-based authentication works in conjunction with its security applet. This applet is available as either a software-only app or embedded into SIM-based or embedded secure elements in mobile devices. The technology uses techniques similar to chip-and-PIN technology for authentication services.
