The Optical Security and Counterfeit Deterrence Technologies conference is looking for presentations looking at the technical aspects of optical security for the January 2014 conference. The conference offers a platform to researchers, developers, manufacturers and users of security to present their findings, new developments and new work on a technical and scientific level.
Many developments in banknote and identity document security have first been unveiled at this conference, with development and commercialization partnerships often resulting. With its restricted attendance by industry specialists it is a well-suited forum to announce bleeding edge technologies.
This year, reflecting the changes in technology, the committee is for the first time soliciting papers related to the integration of optical security features into broader security applications, standards development and the methods for testing, examination and analysis of optical features, including the use of digital and portable devices.
At the same time, papers are solicited in the more traditional topics of protection for banknotes, travel and identity documents; identity management; document production and security application technology, which remain the core of the conference.
Specific topics of interest include:
- Optically variable devices, micro-optics, nano- optics
- Identification and authentication methods
- Machine-readable technologies, standards and developments
- Substrates, inks, coatings and security printing
- Image technology and product intelligence
- Digital and 3D printing
- Transparent security features, substrates, and their applications
- Standards and analytic methods for testing of optical techniques & devices
- Color generation & use in security applications.
A 500-word abstract is due by May 31 of proposed papers on these and related topics should be sent by email to info@reconnaissance- intl.com with a brief biography of the proposed presenter.
The abstract should explain what new insights and/or developments will be presented. All papers will be selected and all authors of the selected papers will be notified no later than August 15.
The 2014 Conference on Optical Security and Counterfeit Deterrence will be held Jan. 29-31, 2014 in San Francisco.
