Lost among the countless articles announcing the launch of US-VISIT’s next phase today, was a little gem from IBM.
They have a version of their T42 ThinkPad that includes a fingerprint reader. Another sweep sensor, actually. It was debatable as to whether this was even worth mentioning because the original press release is lost somewhere in cyberspace. According to Gizmodo, the article said that they claimed it to be first of its kind. But MPC and Fujitsu know that isn’t true.
We’ll let you know if any more surfaces on this laptop.
Read the Gizmodo entry.
Also – if you happen to use biometrics in your business now, you might want to drop the people at Gizmodo a line. They need to hear some case studies in favor of the technology. (gizmodo at gmail dot com)
UPDATE – Yep, the ThinkPad is available. Here’s some more details.
