On the pharma front: Sirit partners with VendingTechnology, Scopra
The pharmaceutical industry is a hotbed of opportunities for RFID companies whose technology can keep up with track-and-trace demands of federal and state regulators.
Expect to see more announcements like this one:
RFID provider Sirit, partnered with VendingTechnology Inc., a developer of advanced item level transaction and dispensing solutions, and Scopra Inc., a developer of enterprise scale commercial software to create a full-bodied, UHF RFID item level tracking solution for the pharmaceutical industry.
Combine Sirit’s “high performance UHF reader technology” with VendingTechnology’s engineering solutions, and Scopra’s software designed for application and network management of RFID-enabled devices – and you get what’s being used by ASD Healthcare (ASD), a division of AmerisourceBergen Corporation. The pharmaceutical distributor will use the whole shebang monitor and track consigned inventory, namely pharmaceuticals within hospitals.
“It’s a tremendous accomplishment to create a solution which can impact people’s lives in such a profound way and deliver a proven ROI within months of installation,” said Norbert Dawalibi, President and CEO, Sirit Inc.
