4G Identity Solutions, a provider of ID solutions and consultancy, has announced that it has been awarded a contract by the Government of India to provide them with fingerprint and iris recognition devices for the Unique Identification Authority of India’s (UIDAI) national registry.
The devices provided will first be tested under the UIDAI’s Proof of Concept tests where, if passed, they will be used in the UIDAI’s biometric Center of Competence.
Much of what the tests determine is whether or not the devices in question can stand up to the multitude of potential issues the national registry poses in India including the scale of registrants, diversity of population and environmental conditions.
