Advanced ID has announced a contract to supply RFID technology and integration services to Chinese homeland security specialist Shenzhen Xinyuantong Electronics. The deal, expected to be worth around $1.6 million, will provide Advanced ID’s proprietary technology for Shenzhen metal detectors.
Shenzen is primarily a supplier of walk-through metal detectors, but the company offers 21 types of security products, including various metal detectors, digital X-ray detection systems, and other security devices used in the transportation and entertainment industries, government agencies and other locations.
The deal is part of a rapid expansion of Advanced ID’s presence in the Asian market. The company established its Asian subsidiary, Advanced ID Asia Pacific, in Hong Kong in June of this year; further inroads in the market were made with the September purchase of mainland China-based RFID manufacturer, Shenzhen DDCT Technology, which will handle the newly announced contract.
