AH&C sees high demand for NFC-enabled health care solution
Advanced Health & Care, a UK-based IT management systems provider for health care services, is reporting a “surge in demand” for its NFC-enabled mobile workforce solution iConnect.
Designed specifically for the home care environment, AH&C’s iConnect uses NFC to deliver live schedules and service user information to care workers, while providing verifiable arrival and departure times to office staff in real time. On arrival and departure, care workers simply touch their mobile phone against a small placed in the patient’s home to log and send the data.
In addition to providing greater efficiency and accuracy, iConnect typically delivers efficiency savings of more than 20% by eliminating time-consuming paper-based processes, says AH&C. The service also allows information to be immediately exchanged without tying up the patient’s landline telephone.
AH&C says the increased demand for iConnect correlates to the growing NFC market in the UK, where customers are starting to be able to make payments in shops using NFC-enabled phones.
Mike Garrod, managing director of Carewatch South Midlands, testifies: “iConnect took only four weeks to implement and has provided us with an return on investment in just 12 months. In addition to transforming staff productivity, iConnect also gives us the flexibility to easily adapt to the changing needs of the social care market, including the onset of personalization which is going to be key in the future.”
