category: RFID
Participants at this year’s Susan G. Komen St. Louis Race for the Cure were given the opportunity to be timed with ultra-high frequency RFID technology from Innovative Timing Systems and Alien Technology. Innovative’s Jaguar Race Timing System, enabled by Alien Technology RFID integrated circuits, readers and antennas were used to provide real-time results for participants as they cross the finish line of the 5K event.
The system utilized a disposable timing chip that could be fitted on the bib, shoe, backpack, or virtually any surface of the athlete.
Employing overhead antennas, no mats or ramps were needed. Athletes as well as racing officials were provided real-time results and reports.
