Amcom adds RFID to call center software
Amcom Software, a Minneapolis-based developer of communications software, has announced the addition of RFID capabilities to its call center software suite. The RFID technology enables users to automatically locate staff and contact them efficiently. The system is targeted for hospitals and other health care facilities.
With Amcom’s system, hospital personnel’s movements within a facility are tracked and their contact records within the Amcom call center system are instantly updated. When a call center activity is initiated, the exact whereabouts of a staffer makes it easy to use the individual’s preferred messaging technology to reach them.
The system incorporates Time Domain Corporation’s PLUS line of precision ultra wideband RTLS tags, antennas and software. Amcom is working with distribution partner TrackIT Systems to design and implement new systems, and facilities can also add the new RFID capabilities to their existing Amcom system.
