Android malware volume jumps 400%

Juniper networks have released figures that show a 400% increase in Malware from the summer of 2010 in Android based smart phones. Android isn’t hard to exploit at the current time, based upon the fact that less than 15% of users employ anti-virus software on their devices.
It appears in the business world the uptake of mobile device security is beginning, yet is still in its infancy. Larger anti-virus companies are snapping up smaller mobile security outfits to enhance their security portfolios and offer them to current clients.
Google is being proactive and removing some applications from its Android Market that have been found to contain malware. Despite the efforts from Google users should still be vigilant and use smart phone security if they want to be fully protected.
