Apple biometric patents published

New patents held by Apple, developers of technology and devices, were published that detail potential biometric applications for their iPhone, according to a Mac Rumors post.
The main one that brings potential for future biometric authentication on Apple mobile devices is called “Seamlessly Embedded Heart Rate Monitor.”
While more common as a means of tracking health, it appears based on the patent language that Apple is more interested in utilizing the technology for biometric-based authentication. Specifically, apple is expecting their embedded sensor to be able to secure the phone itself from unwanted users and/or be able to load customized profile setting s for various applications on the phone or for settings on the phone itself.
