Promoting flexibility, quality and cost-effective production, printer manufacturer Atlantic Zeiser introduced three new printing solutions at drupa 2008, a once-every-four-year conference at Dusseldorf, Germany that’s billed as the largest printing equipment exhibition in the world.
Atlantic’s new offerings include the OMEGA 210 digital industrial inkjet printer, the FLEXOJET 600 modular system for UV printing solutions, and the BRAILLEJET digital printer for Braille printing.
“These new offerings directly respond to our customers’ needs for variable data printing solutions that deliver the flexibility of digital technologies combined with the quality perception and cost-effectiveness of analog printing,” said Atlantic Zeiser’s CEO Oliver Mehler. “Especially when it comes to the printing on non-absorbing substrates such as coated papers, plastics, and metal surfaces, these are the industrial printers of choice. Like all our printers they can be easily combined with our line of camera systems to ensure 100% quality control.”
The 360 dpi OMEGA 210 digital ink jet printer is the latest extension of the company’s OMEGA ink jet range. It provides an economical solution for single pass ink jet printing of wide print jobs up to A4 in size. Lightweight and compact, the OMEGA 210 integrates into most existing equipment. The one head design supports uninterrupted printing across 210 mm width with black as well as spot color inks.
The FLEXOJET 600 is a thermal ink jet machine that can print on virtually any material, for a wide variety of high-speed industrial applications. This scalable solution can be customized as required with curing systems and a controller platform. It can also be configured as a single pen system or a complex multiple imager stitched solution with advanced features such as camera verification. The 38.1 mm modular design allows the printer to be stitched on mounting platforms for wide format printing, seamless imaging of variable and fixed text, bar code symbols and bitmaps, with stitching across all pens.
The company’s FLEXOJET, at a DPI resolution of 600 x 600, is designed for high volume printing. It uses specially formulated UV curing inks, and optional resolutions. The in-house developed UV inks produce print quality and contrast, making them a good choice for high resolution bar codes. More than 80 bar codes (1D and 2D) are supported.
BRAILLEJET, a new printing system for Braille, offers an innovative and accurate solution for the personalization and encoding needs of the packaging industry and pharmaceutical market. New micro valve technology enables Braille fonts to be printed using UV curable high-viscosity ink to achieve immediate fixation of the dots. The result is optimum readability and dot clarity.
During drupa Atlantic Zeiser will present its complete range of quality product solutions for high quality variable data printing and late stage product customization on carton, labels and on flexible packaging materials such as foils, PET or aluminum.
