UPI reports that Australia’s Defense Department will be testing an automated biometric information system that will aid in the production of biometrically enabled intelligence.

Australia will conduct a six-month trial to test the system’s ability to ensure identities in the theater. If successful, it would be a developmental aspect of an Australian Department of Defense multi-modal biometric data repository.
