Authasas, a developer of biometric solutions, has announced that they have released its new biometric authentication solution that is designed for Microsoft Vergence, Microsoft’s product for managing clinical workstations in such industries as health care.
The new solution, called Authasas Advanced Authentication, enables a user to authenticate himself via fingerprint authentication as well as smart cards and tokens while also utilizing Vergence’s single sign-on capabilities.
As Vergence is already being used daily by 500,000 caregivers, Authasas wanted to design a solution that would increase the security of the systems Vergence is managing that often contain sensitive patient data.
Additionally, while this release of Authasas Advanced Authentication utilizes a 1:1 matching algorithm, a future release is being planned that would integrate the WEB-key solution from biometrics developer BIO-key and would allow for 1:n matching.
