DigitalPersona, a developer of fingerprint-based biometric solutions, has announced they have been chosen by Bentley University to deploy a software solution to the faculty and students. Bentley officials are hopeful the new software will enable increased security on the computers and networks while also relieving issues related to forgotten or stolen passwords.
The change comes as the computers distributed to the faculty and students as a part of the mobile computing program Bentley takes part in, HP Elitebook 6930p, come with embedded fingerprint scanners. Bentley is reporting excitement from both the recipients of the computers and their IT staff related to the technology and its potential uses.
