Biometrics, tokens securing health care data

Many health care organizations are still trying to figure out how to secure electronic health information, but biometrics and tokens are two options, according to a report in Health Data Management.
New federal rules have been released stating that health care institutions need to secure data but specific technologies have not been mandated.
According to the report though organizations are considering biometrics, hardware tokens, proximity badges, phone-based authentication and adaptive authentication, a system that assess a user’s risk potential and poses a series of questions based on personal information.
