Some 3,000 blank British passports and blank visa stickers were stolen from a delivery van, according to an Associated Press report.
The supplies were being flown from a Royal Air Force base near London to British embassies overseas. Britain’s Identity and Passport Service says that contactless smart card chips embedded in the passports that store personal and biometric data have not been activated.
