Better Online Solutions (BOS), an Israel-based RFID solutions provider, has announced the release of its BOSwine 1.0 tracking solution, an RFID-based platform for monitoring the life cycle of pigs. The system offers pig farmers the ability to better track developments in their herds, including preventative treatment for diseases such as the swine flu.
The BOSwine solution deploys RFID tags to provide computerized tracking; it monitors and enables breeders to control pigs’ lifecycles, including breeding, pregnancies, vaccination, transportation, and weight-tracking. A farmer is able to track and monitor the mother pig during her pregnancy and ensure that it receives the required vaccines.
BOSwine also offers real-time visibility and full traceability of the mother pig and the piglet, enabling an automated track and control system for health genealogy.
“Healthy mothers with healthy pregnancies equal healthy newborn pigs,” says Shalom Daskal, CEO of BOS. “By using the BOSwine 1.0 real-time monitoring solution, farms can assure a healthy swine life cycle.”
BOS developed the system in cooperation with Israel’s largest swine farm.
