Fans at Brighton and Hove Albion F.C.’s new stadium in Falmer, England will soon be able to pay for merchandise, food and drink with contactless smart cards, according to The Argus.
The new cards can be loaded with credit in the same way that mobile phones are topped up, and also contain loyalty data that tells ticket administrators how many home and away matches the holder has attended.
Every fan in attendance at the American Express Community Stadium will be issued their own personal smart cards at the inaugural league game next August.
Additionally, season ticket holders will have tickets to each league match automatically loaded onto their cards.
