Campus card showguide to Cardtech/Securtech ’03
01 April, 2003
category: Biometrics, Education, Library
Each year, the Cardtech/Securtech exposition brings together the newest, coolest products from the ID card and security markets. The conference is massive, drawing hundreds of vendors from around the world and often nearly 10,000 attendees.
It can be very difficult to navigate through the volume of exhibits to get to the things that most benefit you. To help make the process easier and your time on the show floor more productive, CR80News has pre-evaluated the vendors and their offerings and created a list of those that our staff feels could most benefit our readers.
For those of you attending this year’s conference in Orlando, Florida, we suggest that you consider visiting the following vendors first, then enjoy the rest of your time simply exploring the exhibit hall for cool new products. I promise you will find something that could benefit your campus card program.
In the market for a new card printer? Check out what’s smaller, faster, cheaper and better from ClearJet, Datacard, Eltron, Evolis, Fargo, Iris, NBS, and Team Nisca. And don’t miss the imaging systems on display at Imageware, Polaroid ID Systems, and TransTech Systems.
Make sure you are getting the most for your money when you buy your card stock by talking to the people that actually make the plastic cards. A number of leading manufacturers will be there including Perfect Plastic, Plastag, TriVista Plastics, and Versatile Card Technology.
A wide range of card readers–from handhelds to keyboards and mag stripes to chip cards–will be on display at Cherry, Goldtouch, MagTek, Silone Magcard, TXSystems, Xico, and a host of others.
Shop for consumables such as printer ribbons and card holders at JAM Plastics, Sony Chemicals, Union Chemical Ribbons, and William Exline.
Explore new security offerings from industry leaders including HID Corporation, Lenel, and Omnitek.
