Cardlab, a Denmark-based developer of self-powered card technology, has announced that its Powered Biometric ID Card exceeds the requirements laid out in the proposed U.S. biometric Social Security card.
The proposed program came from a legislative call for improved identification documentation for immigrants including biometric technology.
One of the aspects of Cardlab’s Powered Biometric ID Card being touted as exceeding the needs of the proposed legislation is its match on card capabilities that stores and encrypts the holder’s personal data on the card itself, eliminating the need for and dangers involving central database storage. Other capabilities inherent to the card include magnetic stripe communication, EMV and contactless.
