CARTES America Conference to detail catalysts for NFC adoption

The upcoming CARTES America Conference will discuss the opportunities and barriers to NFC adoption, how to manage a complex ecosystem as well as address security concerns and consumer education. The conference will be held in Las Vegas from April 23- 25.
The first two days of the conference will feature NFC sessions addressing all six tracks — The Wallet War, Securing Mobile Payments and Services, EMV Implementation & Financial Services, Electronic ID for a Secure Identity, Commerce Convergence: Going Mobile and EMV and Security — with a half-day track devoted solely to the NFC: Not Only Payment track on April 25.
The first day of the conference will see CARTES America host sessions on U.S. NFC Implementation Actions and Results, EMV, NFC and Mobile Implementations, The Convergence of EMV and NFC, as well as case studies on European NFC implementations. The NFC sessions scheduled for April 24 will include Managing Secure Digital Mobile Identities, Mobile and NFC: Smart Implementation Strategies and From Classic EMV Cards to NFC and Stickers.
According to an M for Mobile report, the U.S. market for mobile wallets is likely to increase by 17.8% from 2012 to 2016 meaning the market would more than double in size every year.
The April conference will mark the second CARTES America exhibition and will bring smart technologies, mobile commerce and digital security authorities and leading technology providers together for 80 educational sessions and more than 100 presenters. The conference will focus on the topics, trends and technologies that will facilitate new business in the American market for innovative smart technologies.
The CARTES America conference program includes a number of sessions spanning three main themes: EMV and NFC deployments, mobile and advanced payments and security. The event will feature technology and application demonstrations from a roster of 130 exhibitors.
