Citibank Korea has partnered with KT, Korea’s 2nd largest wireless services provider, to launch its new Citi Mobile Card, enabling Citi credit cards to be downloaded wirelessly to a mobile phone’s USIM chip.
The new solution allows KT customers to tap their mobile phone on a contactless reader at the point of sale to pay for purchases, as well as receive coupon downloads and KT member discounts.
The Citi Mobile Card is accepted at any merchant with a MasterCard Paypass or Visa Paywave-enabled terminal, including major Korean merchants like Shinsegae and Emart.
KT mobile phone holders can apply for a Citi Mobile Card via Citibank branches, Citibank’s Web site, or CitiPhone.
