The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival with help from Intellitix, an RFID technology provider for live events, added an online audience of more than 30 million last month when over 30,000 fans registered to “Live Click” around the festival site.
The technology used various touch points positioned at key areas around the festival site during both weekends. RFID wristbands allowed registered users to automatically check in as they arrived, allowing fans to share their experience with friends and family online.
Audience members could interact across the site with engagement points that allow them to share their experience online. Possibilities include check in points, like posts, photo upload stands, competition zones and digital reward areas.
Additional features include RFID-based access control, which reduces lines and eliminates counterfeit tickets, and cashless payment systems, which are both secure and convenient for the fan.
