Cogent announces mobile multi-modal biometric device

Cogent Systems, a developer of biometric solutions, has announced the release of a new biometric device designed to be a rugged, multi-modal solution for use in the field by military and law enforcement personnel. The Fusion, Cogent’s new device, was design with input from the U.S. Department of Defense’s Special operations community and has been tested by the U.S. Army’s Biometric Task Force (BTF).
In addition to its design and testing, Fusion has been built to military and Ingress Protection standards and has been certified by the BTF as EBTS and EFTS compliant.
Fusion’s capabilities include a graphical user interface, expanded keyboard, high-resolution camera, an ability to store forensic-quality fingerprint data, iris data, photos and textual data as well. It’s also capable of connecting to computer networks via WiFi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth, GSM and GPRS wireless connectivity to access data.
