Mexico City/Mexico, Stuttgart/Germany, January 7, 2008 – The Digital Identification Solutions Group (A0JELZ), a leading international ID solutions provider, has won a major new contract from the Mexican federal government. The signing of a 7-digit contract with a leading Mexican ID systems integrator means that although the group’s Latin American hub (situated in Queretaro, 150 kilometers north of Mexico City) has yet to be opened, Digital Identification Solutions has already achieved its first major success in this fast-growing region.
“The signing of this contract is already the third major success for our group within a single month,” says Gerd Schaefer, CEO of the Stuttgart-based Digital Identification Solutions Group.
“For us the three contracts – from Australia, the United Kingdom and now from Mexico – represent a business volume well in excess of 4 million US Dollars and offer further growth potential in the coming years. The Mexican federal project, in particular, offers tremendous opportunities for us: The client – a government agency – will use our systems to produce ID cards of superior capability, quality and durability compared to those issued in Mexico so far. A contactless high-capacity chip card made 100 per cent out of polyester and equipped with a crypto-processor as well as special Mifare emulation will enable the agency not only to store a large number of personal details on this card but also to use it in a multi-application environment,” Schaefer adds.
“We are extremely pleased with the prospect of working with the Digital Identification Solutions Group,” says Mario Bavines Figueroa, President and Chief Executive Officer of SYSCE, S.A. de C.V., the system integrator hired by the Mexican government. “As a high-end solutions provider, we were looking for a capable partner who offers not only state-of-the-art technology but also a successful track record. We regard this contract as the overture to a long-term partnership that has great potential for both companies involved,” Mario Bavines Figueroa elaborates.
Ismael Alfonso Almada, General Manager of the Digital Identification Solutions Group in Queretaro, Mexico, and Regional Manager Latin America adds, “With this prestigious order we can demonstrate the full range of our capabilities: As part of the new project, we will not only supply SYSCE with the leading-edge EDIsecure® SDK (Software Developer’s Toolkit), including a variety of training and coaching services, but we will also provide our state-of-the-art real-time biometric enrollment systems and the renowned EDIsecure® Retransfer-Printer generation used for ID card personalization. Various additional visible and invisible security
tools will also be used during the personalization process.”
In view of the sensitivity of this project, both parties have agreed to disclose no further details.
