The Dutch national police agency, the Korps Landelijke Politie Diensten (KLPD), has awarded a contract for a biometric-based identification system and service to Motorola, according to an EFY Times article. The contract spans four years and stipulates the implementation of Motorola’s Printrak Biometric Identification Solution which will support both finger and palm prints as well as provide management of the system.
Officials from the KLPD are excited by the opportunities presented by the new system such as less manual identification verification work as well as a more accurate identification solution.
