Ekahau announced it has joined the Juniper Networks Technology Alliance program as a foundation partner. The Ekahau RTLS system will leverage Juniper’s wireless networks to derive real-time location, status and other information about Ekahau Wi-Fi tags without requiring any proprietary sensors or readers.
Juniper’s family of wireless local area network (WLAN) controllers and access points will now be integrated with Ekahau’s RTLS and WLAN planning and analysis tools, and provide additional options in how network managers use location services and plan and verify their network coverage.
The tags in the Ekahau RTLS system use Juniper’s WLAN to incorporate advanced two-way communications capabilities that alert staff through the tag itself. The system also allows users to initiate alerts, alarms, requests and other work-flow and safety related events.
The partnership enables enterprise customers to deploy RTLS applications over their Juniper Wi-Fi networks in a variety of environments such as hospitals, warehouses, manufacturing plants, mines, universities, and entertainment venues to streamline and optimize operations, enhance utilization of assets and improve the safety of staff and visitors.
