Entrust Datacard releases virtual appliance for cybersecurity
Entrust Datacard announced the release of its IdentityGuard Virtual Appliance, which enables organizations to defend against enterprise level cyber attacks. The new, two-factor authentication solution offers organizations the ability to provide users with secure access to an array of services and applications.
The virtual appliance is packaged to provide enterprises with a solution that includes Entrust IdentityGuard authentication software, a hardened operating system, a database and installation wizards. This packaged solution eliminates the need for IT departments to design and configure their own system and aims for a simplified deployment experience for the IT management and the enterprise. In addition, the solution includes a self-service capability that enables users to manage authenticators at any time without the assistance of a help desk.
The addition of the virtual appliance helps to round out the authentication deployment options offered by Entrust Datacard, including:
- IdentityGuard 11.0, the company’s authentication solution which enables organizations to manage and deploy a range of capabilities; provide secure access to today’s leading online, cloud and mobile platforms; and provide transparency and a frictionless experience.
- Entrust Authentication Service, a solution that leverages Entrust Datacard’s strong authentication solutions in a cloud-based service.
MorphoTrust receives certification
MorphoTrust USA announced that it has achieved SAFETY Act certification on its Universal Enrollment Services (UES) and Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) platforms. The certification acknowledges these technologies are effective anti-terrorism tools.
The UES platform facilitates the collection of biometric and biographic information of individuals for enrollment in various federal programs, as well as the secure transmission of that information to the contracting agency for review and adjudication, which may include comparison against law enforcement databases. Currently, MorphoTrust is the authorized service provider for enrollment into the popular TSA PreCheck program as well as the Hazardous Materials Endorsement and Transportation Worker Identity Credential programs under its UES contract. The UES platform is currently in use at more than 360 IdentoGO Centers by MorphoTrust across the country where enrollments in TSA PreCheck, HME and TWIC are available, including more than 40 airport locations.
The ABIS platform enables MorphoTrust’s government customers to search, process, compare and manage identity data of enrolled individuals. ABIS users can search for individual identities by a variety of biometric modalities, ranging from face to iris to fingerprint, in one-to-one or one-to-many identity checks. ABIS is used by a number of government agencies to verify identities in situations critical to national security.
