EPC offers ATM anti-skimming recommendations

The European Payments Council, the European banking industry’s coordination and decision-making body, has released a series of ATM anti-skimming recommendations for the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). The suggestions include changing ATM card readers to prevent the attachment of skimming devices and measures to jam or disturb skimming devices. The EPC also suggests installation of privacy shields that would hide a customer’s hand as he enters his PIN.
